Gear Up For Some Space Opera

My friend Serdar has been working on his latest book, Flight of the Vajra, for awhile.  I recently helped him edit it, and he’s released Chapter Zero to whet your appetite.

Go read it.  Because, trust me, this book is good.

I edited it, and after awhile, I didn’t really feel like I was doing work.  It’s a compelling novel of what I like to call “Hard Space Opera,” a space opera tale that has a lot of serious, thought-provoking elements and a wild cast.  From a genius spacecraft engineer with a cache of illegal technology, to spiritual leader with a very complex burden, to a gender-shifting singer, you’ll meet a lot of complicated characters.  You don’t even know everyone’s plans or motivations until the last few pages of the book, and you don’t know everyone’s fate much the same way.

It also covers a lot of interesting issues of technology, transhumanism, space travel, life, and death.  I was constantly intrigued, surprised, and asking questions.

So go and check it out – then wait for the book.  Trust me, it’s worth it.
