Steve’s Update

Whew, came off of one busy week at work. So of course I did a bunch of website work.  Yeah, I know.

So what’s going on here is I moved all my MuseHack blogging (and Informotron) blogging over here.  Informotron is purely press work now, and judging by people’s response you prefer it that way.

Now as for what’s up here, my Activities for The Civic geek is going on – that’s an experiment in writing a free ebook a piece at a time.  In this case an ebook that gives you ideas to be a civic geek!  I also hope (time permitting) to bundle up a lot of my old stuff.

I’m also going to be writing more books.  The focus is going to be making stuff that’s a mix of analyzing and of stuff you can apply.

As for mow

  • Way With Worlds.  The second run of editing is a heckuva lot easier.
  • Sailor Moon Book.  We got a plan, I just need to have work interruptions to stop so I can get to it.
  • And the new ebook is  . . . a resume guide to jazzing up your resume!  That’ll be out probably October!  After a break and getting some work on the Sailor Moon book.

Also expect to see more of me here now that I’m consolidating blogs

A Quick Update – And Welcome!

Hey gang, you probably saw some changes over at the InformoTron, my press site.  I’ve decided to move my blogging completely to my personal site here.  InformoTron will remain my press site and a roundup of my free resources.

Really, I was just splitting my effort, and judging by people’s reactions it really wasn’t doing it for them.  They didn’t need one big blog to find my books, and they want to come here to find out about me.  So, there you go.

Now that also means it won’t just be updates and cooking – there’s going to be more coming here.  So stay tuned . . .

Activities For The Civic Geek: Start A Group

Want to do something for your community? Found a group, club, or organization for people like you and bring folks together.

Communities are made up of smaller communities, or make up larger communities. If you want to do something to be a civic geek, then go and found your own community. Find something that should exist and found a group, club, or organization.

Try “scratching your own itch” and ask yourself what should exist. Does your area need a writer’s group? Does your area need a gathering for cosplayers? Are you looking for a good group to play video games with? Find something you want then go found it.

It’s not particularly hard – I recommend meetup.com as a great starting point, but you can do it through many forms of social media. Go on, find what’s needed, gather your friends, and make something.

Will it work? Maybe, maybe not. But as is often noted you don’t know until you try – and you can always see what it’ll evolve into.
