Site Update 7/15/2013

Sorry for not having posted much this week, been quite busy at the new job.  If you hadn’t seen, well, I started at Adobe as a Senior Program Manager!  It’s great stuff, the job is just what I wanted, the people are awesome, and I’m getting into the technical areas I wanted (I’m going more cloud and infrastructure).  So I’ve been busy.

This also means I put my writing and the Seventh Sanctum update on hold for a week.  Sorry about that.

The “new” writing project, I can tell you, is more revisiting some other work, updating it, and combining it into something bigger.  You’ll see!

Also have tons of interview at MuseHack – I’ve got them queued out for about two weeks.  I think I’m on a roll!

So I hope to have more later, but let’s just say last week was a bit crazy!

Site Update 7/9/2013

As you may have known, I took last week pretty much off.  Which really meant relaxing, some writing, and playing Rogue Legacy and Cube World. Which are awesome.  I even reviewed Rogue Legacy.

So what’s up?

First, new job!  Yes, I’m over at Adobe now, and quite enjoying it.  It’s a move from Project to Program Management for me, which is exactly what I wanted (though I can also bore you with my whole fractal management theory).  So if things are slow a week or two more, you know why.

The next book project is mostly solidified, and no I can’t say what it is as it actually builds and expands on some of my previous work.  Sorry, but there probably won’t be anything to say for 2-4 more months.  But it’ll be cool.

Based on some feedback and ideas, I may be bundling up some of my other writing as small or free ebooks.  So there may be another “minor” release in the next six months as well.

The job coaching is going good, and I’ve been doing more resume coaching (really, everyone hates doing them).  Be sure to contact me if you want help – everyone seems happy so far!

Seventh Sanctum’s rewrite is going pretty good.  In fact, it’s really more reskinning the front end using Bootstrap, and I like what I see so far.  My guess however is that won’t launch until end of Q3/early Q4, depending.  I wanted to try for September, but at this rate I’m expecting to spend more time testing than I expected, and I want to get a more interesting look.

MuseHack is doing well, and we’ll be having a few more things coming up, so stay tuned!

Weekly Update 7/1/2013

Well it’s been a busy time, so let’s see whats up!

First of all, I’ll be starting a new job next week.  Yes, I know, it’s been a lot of crazy ups and downs, but I don’t plan to  go looking for one again and I don’t plan to write a book on it.  I’ve probably done enough direct job-search books for awhile!

The new book project is going well.  It’s going to be up to 200 pages at this rate, but it’ll also be a bit familiar.

And no, still no ideas on the next Focused Fandom, but it keeps coming back to being either Writing or Conventions.

The Seventh Sanctum rewrite has begun, and I’m using Bootstrap.  It’s pretty easy overall, but I’m working carefully to get it right.  Fortunately the core architecture is easy to use.  I am not sure I’ll make a mobile-responsive site as my current goal is to make a more universal one interface-wise.

MuseHack is going well.  We’re up in readers, are getting new contributors, and we have a LOT of interviews coming.  I’m really working on getting people profiled there so we can build connections and show successes.  We need more so join up!

I’ve been doing more coaching lately, mostly one-offs and small sessions.  I’m always open for more – and remember the first 30 minutes is free!
