Dell Moving Into Wearable Computing

It’s under consideration.

That’s interesting as I’ve long considered Dell . . . well, OK let me be blunt, I think they’re in trouble.  In fact the amount of job postings I’ve seen them make in Silicon Valley has been kind of sad.  They have issues.

But a wearable computing move may be a long-shot they need, since right now they’re foundering.  Also everyone and their brother has a tablet.  So Dell has nothing to loose since they’re loosing anyway.

Maybe you ought to be sending them a resume if you’re the gambling type.

Jaron Lanier on Fixing The Digital Economy

I don’t always agree with Jaron Lanier, but he has a way of really making you think.  In this case he looks at the  impacts of the digital economy (more specifically, negative ones), and how to fix them.

Jaron Lanier’s “Fixing the Digital Economy.”

It’s an interesting run-up as he looks at the huge data in the economy, and how some existing ideas might be cultivated to help maintain a middle class he fears is being crushed.
