Make It So: A Skunkworks For Films

Last “Make It So” we had a roundup of how the MuseHack gang would try and change how theaters would run and how movies worked: a return to serials, more events, theaters as destinations, and heavy social engagement. It would mean less theaters in some cases, but more connected ones less dependent on tentpoles.

However there’s a flipside to this that Serdar and I had been discussing that’s our next make it so. We’re still trying to save the movie industry here at MuseHack, but in this case we’re focusing on the way films are made. Which, as you may guess, kind of sucks.

Avoiding The Apocalypse? PoTC Film Pushed Back To 2016

Remember that idea that 2015 would be a big movie meltdown?  Sounds like others may be taking it seriously as the next PoTC film is being pushed back to 2016.  Of course if every film flees 2015 that could produce a kind of implosion.

Either way, we progeeks should be looking to take advantage of what is hopefully a well-needed shakeup.

Feeling Wild About WIldstar Online

If you know me, MMO’s aren’t quite my bag.  I did some City of Heroes back in the day, tried Dungeon Fighter and liked it but lost tracked, and was rather charmed by Dragon’s Nest and it’s anime-esque style for some time.  I just don’t really get into them, and with the way they suck time, they better be worth it.

I think one of the next-Gen MMO’s may not also get my attention, but it looks like it’s going to try some interesting mechanics and design ideas.  Welcome to WildStar Online.  Let’s take a look at why I’m paying attention.
